After the Islamic Revolution, it was renamed Shahid Shamkhi Faculty of Sciences and became affiliated with Isfahan University. In the following decades, after significant efforts, it became independent from Isfahan University and later from Tarbiat Moallem University of Tehran, eventually gaining recognition as University of Kashan.
